It seems more natural at this time in history to create with the left-behind items of our society.  We talk about saving the earth from ourselves and our burden of garbage and I hope by using these found (and sometimes lost?) items in my jewelry, I can make a “small” bit of difference…and create a new beauty along the way?

That’s why I first came up with the name-“Recylcled Baubles”.  Each piece of jewelry will contain bits of my personal stock of treasures as well as from family members, friends and clients.  I will use anything that fits so it is not unlikely to find non-jewelry related items peeking out here or there.  (I jokingly came up with the idea of a line of jewelry composed solely of items found in parking lots, street gutters, etc and I wanted to name them “Alley Baubles” (sick I know!) but since I really prefer to do pretty work I just mix all those fun little found items in with the buttons and beadwork.

Each piece becomes a marriage of jewels and tarnished treasures…with a little bits of my heart and soul tucked in for good measure.  They reside side by side and cohabitate comfortably and together create a beauty all their own.
